Note: I've amended this pattern (2nd November) to American crochet speak rather than my own strange crochet language which was my translation for the Spanish.
It should be much easier now, but please let me know if there are still problems : )
G'day Olivia
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your pattern... I adore earrings so will be giving these a try... you are so very generous with your art... Blessings... B
WOW! I just love these...must be added to the list of things I must make, thanks so much for the tutorial. Tam xo
ReplyDeleteOh these are adorable! I found this through Whip Up. One quick question, are these American Crochet Terms or UK terms? I always ask if it's nto indicated before I start a project.
ReplyDeleteThan you!
Thanks for your lovely comments : )
ReplyDeleteCrystal that's a really good question and I'm not sure of the answer. My mother in law taught me how to crochet in Spanish and I've only ever read Spanish patterns, so maybe American terms? I'm going to investigate tonight and get back to you/ amend the pattern. Thank you
Olivia
It should be ok now and in American Crochet speak. I'm very new to writing crochet patterns for other people to understand, so if there are still problem please let me know.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy : )
Olivia

ReplyDeletethanks for sharing this pattern! Did you stiffen the flowers at all, or just leave them as-is?
ReplyDeleteHi Olivia,
ReplyDeleteAfter many, many, many attempts (I am teaching myself crochet) I seem to have something that resembles your earrings, minus one petal!
I am really enjoying your blog and look forward to learning more from you.
Thanks for sharing your patterns.
Nina
Thanks for your lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteTo stiffen the flowers firstly I run a thread around the back and pull it tight.
If it needs more paint a little bit of clear nail polish on the back of the flower.
thanks a lot for sharing this pattern with us
ReplyDeletei want to ask how you can create a pattern
I followed your instructions to make the cutest earrings! http://thingstreasured.blogspot.com/2010/03/update-full-of-pictures.html

ReplyDeletethanks so much I understood your pattern completely.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I struggling? Is my thread too thick. I am using cotton perle 5 and a 1.4mm hook. Having trouble fitting 23 hdc's on the chain of 6?? Is my
ReplyDeletetry chain 3, then 23 hdc's into the first chain, pull tail tight to create the "ring" and ss into top ch2 or top of first hdc, just made one, but can't remember exactly where i did the ss...hope that helps
Deletelovely!!
ReplyDeleteThose are great! They look so simple . . . I'm going to make a bunch in differnt colors for Christmas gifts this year.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful earrings. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteGreat Pattern. I think these would look nice in thicker yarn too - and made into a wrap
Thanks
Sue
Hi, your pattern is great, i just made one with a soft fingering yarn and a 2mm hook...based on your picture with the stitches, i would say it is American crochet terms...plus anyone having trouble crocheting 23 hdc's into the ring, I just chained three, crocheted the 23 into the first chain, joined with ss to top of first hdc and pulled tail tight
ReplyDeletehi -
ReplyDeletei'm pretty new to crochet, but i thout that i'd give them a shot. they are 2" across, which seems pretty big. how large should they be? i used perle cotton.
thanks. :>
Hi Jeanne,
DeleteI think they should be around 2cm (less than an inch).
I probably used 12 Pearl Cotton with a 1mm hook but I haven't made them for years!!
All the best with them!
xx Olivia
Thank you sooo much for sharing yr pattern. Just finished a nice earing in pink with mother of pearl bead.
ReplyDeletethey're so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI crocheted a few pairs of earrings using this pattern. The first one I did, I accidentally started with dc instead of hdc, but it ended up okay. The second pair I followed the pattern exactly. You can see them here (there are other earrings I made posted there, too):

I just finished my first pair! Thank you for sharing this pattern. They are lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this pattern. I just made this up using a 30 thread in multi color hombre and like the way it came out. I like the finer threads, and personally like smaller body jewelry, but love that this can be done in any weight thread. I did modify the starting chain and used the double loop ring start method rather than the 6-chain ring. For me, the loop methods is easier to slide the next round of stitches along and I can pull the tail of the loop and make a very tight and stiff center ring. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for share your post. I read the article and I must say that you did fabulous job. I am very impress that you mention dimension of little pearls. Your post is really different form the others.
